Stop the Hopping! Resolve to find your Aesthetics Clinic Home in 2026

In the New Year we often take stock and make resolutions for the year ahead. Resolutions frequently tend toward taking better care of ourselves – eating better, going to the gym more often, losing weight, reducing stress and similar goals.

Taking care of this one life and one body we have is a universal goal – a cross cultural, across age, across gender priority.

As people live longer and healthier lives the desire to slow or even reverse the signs of aging is increasing. From cold water plunges to Mediterranean diets, the interest is living healthier longer lives is a priority.

This also explains the explosion in interest in medical aesthetics over the past 10 to 15 years. People want to be well, feel great and look the way that they feel.

Given the array of services now available in medical aesthetics it’s important to find a clinic you trust that provides quality care, safety and results.

Bouncing around from medspa to clinic to personal service establishment to chase trending treatments or the lowest price can lead to disappointing results for the money spent. It can also lead to unnecessary risk.

What are the key factors to consider when choosing a medical aesthetics provider?

  • Clinical environment – clean, professional, designed for medical procedures

  • Appropriate training and oversight – clinic run by medical professionals who are on site

  • Continuity of Care / Team Environment – collaborative (not competitive) work environment and all your record of care in one location

  • Breadth of Services – a comprehensive range of services/products in one location

  • Budget – transparent pricing, respect for your budget, no pressure sales/memberships

  • Safety & Efficacy – evidence that safety is a priority and treatment results are good

  • Communication – lots of education provided, easy to get your questions answered

  • Experience – clinic has been around awhile and has experienced professionals on staff

Why are these factors so important?

In October 2025 the US FDA issued a Communication highlighting the risk of burns, scarring, fat loss, nerve damage and other serious adverse effects from a common aesthetic treatment called RF Microneedling. The FDA previously approved these devices and they’re safe when used correctly. The risk arises when care is provided poorly, by insufficiently trained or inexperienced providers and where there’s inadequate medical oversight and follow-up care.

This should be a warning and raise alarm bells for both consumers and providers. Finding a provider you trust and sticking with them is the best way to ensure safety while obtaining optimal results.

Afterall, we don’t change dentists every time we go for a cleaning or need a filling, and we don’t jump from hair salon to hair salon whenever we want a haircut. Typically, when it comes to taking care of our health and our appearance, we look for a trusted provider and stick with them. And the same should be true for your aesthetics clinic.

What’s the best way to find your medical aesthetics clinic home? A checklist of questions like the ones below can help you to narrow down your search.

Referral/Reviews

  • Ask a friend or family member where they go if they’re happy with their clinic.

  • Read Google reviews carefully (a review should be freely given – not incentivized or purchased)

  • When assessing online ranking, avoid paid ads, and look for organic Google search results.

  • Does the clinic have a good reputation in the community?

History/Reputation

  • Find out how long the clinic has been in operation (new clinics and those with ‘great prices’ can be at risk of closing suddenly).

  • Have they won awards from legitimate sources?

  • Do they support their community? (charitable, community events, etc)

  • Are they a member of the Better Business Bureau or the local Chamber of Commerce?

  • Are they up to date with their social media, their website, etc? (indicates attention to detail)

Staffing

  • Ask who the owner of the clinic is (owner operators are often very invested in the quality of care they provide while chains may be driven by profit concerns).

  • Is the medical director on site daily?

  • Do they post their staff qualifications and training certificates in the clinic?

  • Does the website have details about staff and management?

  • Are staff employees or contractors? (employees are preferable to contractors)

  • Do the clinic respond quickly to inquiries? Call you back in a timely manner if you leave a message? (indicates a well run clinic that is adequately staffed)

Pricing/Value

  • Is the clinic transparent about its pricing (posting their price list)

  • Do they offer a broad range of commonly sought after services at reasonable prices?

  • Does the clinic have name-brand equipment and products?

  • Is clinical grade photography such as Visia included to document skin issues and quantify treatment results?

Convenience

  • Do they offer a wide range of commonly sought after services? (it’s safer and easier to get all your care in one place)

  • Do they offer convenient hours?

  • Are they easy to communicate with? Email, phone, direct messaging, online booking?

  • Free on-site or nearby parking?

  • Online store for products?

This checklist can help narrow down the search. You can also prioritize which items are most important to you.

To optimize your treatment results, improve safety and get value for money spent, make 2026 the year you stop clinic hopping and find your medical aesthetics home. It will be well worth it.
